The Isolation Transformer removes the electrical continuity between the shore power and the boat by transferring power through its primary and secondary windings. This eliminates the risk of galvanic corrosion, a process that occurs when dissimilar metals in electrical contact are exposed to seawater or freshwater. Galvanic corrosion can damage key components like the shaft, propeller, and sacrificial anodes, compromising the integrity of your vessel.

Ensures Proper Grounding

Connecting the ground wire of the shore-side supply to the metal parts of the boat can lead to galvanic corrosion. Conversely, not connecting the ground wire creates an unsafe situation where Ground Fault Current Interrupters (GFCIs) and fuses will fail to work. The Victron Isolation Transformer solves both problems by isolating the boat from shore power while maintaining safety features like GFCIs and fuses.

Soft Start Feature

The transformer includes a soft start as a standard feature to prevent the shore power fuse from blowing due to inrush current. This ensures a smooth and reliable connection every time.

Automatic Voltage Switching (3600W Auto 115/230 V Model)

This model automatically switches between 115V and 230V depending on the input voltage, ensuring seamless compatibility with shore power supplies worldwide:

• Supply 88V – 130V: switches to 115V
• Supply 185V – 250V: switches to 230V

The AC input voltage is raised by a 1:1.05 ratio at the AC output to ensure reliable operation.
