Shipping policy
Delivery Times
Most in-stock items are dispatched on the same working day where possible and are typically delivered within 1–2 working days. These timescales are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Delivery times may vary depending on stock availability, courier schedules, delivery location, adverse weather, vehicle breakdowns, network disruption and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If an item is subject to a lead time, is temporarily out of stock or is a special-order item, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to advise you of the expected timescale.
We strongly recommend that customers do not arrange installers, tradespeople, scaffolding, equipment hire or other works until all goods have been delivered and checked. Off Grid Renewables Ltd cannot accept responsibility for costs incurred as a result of estimated delivery dates not being met, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Delivery Methods
We use a range of third-party courier and pallet delivery services depending on the size, weight, value and nature of the goods ordered.
Smaller items are generally sent by parcel courier, whilst solar panels, batteries, mounting rails and other large or heavy products may be delivered using a pallet or specialist freight service.
The delivery method and courier used will be determined by Off Grid Renewables Ltd and may vary depending on the products ordered and the delivery location.
Where tracking information or an estimated delivery date is provided by us or the courier, this is for guidance only and does not constitute a guaranteed delivery appointment unless expressly agreed in writing by Off Grid Renewables Ltd.
Shipping Costs
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on the products ordered and the delivery location. The applicable delivery charge will be shown before payment is completed.
Additional charges may apply to certain postcodes and locations, including parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, offshore islands and remote areas. Where an additional charge applies that has not been calculated automatically at checkout, we will contact you before dispatch.
Delivery Locations
We currently deliver throughout mainland Great Britain and Northern Ireland, subject to courier availability and any applicable delivery surcharges.
For deliveries to offshore islands, remote locations or addresses outside our standard delivery areas, please contact us at hello@offgridrenewables.co.uk before placing your order.
Delivery Dates and Delays
Any dispatch or delivery dates provided by Off Grid Renewables Ltd, our suppliers or our delivery partners are estimates only unless we have expressly confirmed in writing that delivery on a specific date is guaranteed.
Whilst we will always make reasonable efforts to ensure orders arrive within the estimated timeframe, delays may occur due to courier disruption, stock delays, adverse weather, traffic, vehicle breakdowns, failed delivery attempts or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
A delay to an estimated delivery date does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund of the delivery charge. Refunds or credits relating solely to delayed delivery will only be issued where agreed by Off Grid Renewables Ltd, except where the customer has a statutory right to a refund or other remedy.
Where a guaranteed or specifically agreed delivery service has been purchased and the agreed service has not been provided, please contact us so that we can investigate the matter and advise on the appropriate resolution.
If delivery by a particular date is essential, you must contact us before placing your order and receive written confirmation from Off Grid Renewables Ltd that the required delivery date can be met. Please do not assume that an estimated delivery date shown on our website or provided by a courier is guaranteed.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
Consequential Costs Arising from Delivery Delays
Customers are responsible for ensuring that goods have been delivered, inspected and confirmed as correct and undamaged before arranging installation or associated works.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Off Grid Renewables Ltd will not be responsible for indirect or consequential costs arising from a delayed, rescheduled, missed or failed delivery. This may include, but is not limited to, installer or contractor charges, scaffolding hire, equipment hire, loss of earnings or time taken off work.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so.
Pallet and Large Item Deliveries
Solar panels, batteries and other large or heavy products may be delivered by pallet or specialist freight services.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, pallet deliveries are generally made to the kerbside or the nearest safe and accessible point to the delivery address. Customers are responsible for ensuring suitable access to the delivery location and for making any necessary arrangements to safely move goods from the delivery point.
Drivers are not guaranteed to assist with unloading, handballing goods or moving products into garages, buildings or other areas of the property.
If there are access restrictions at the delivery address, including narrow roads, weight restrictions, low bridges or restricted access for large vehicles, please notify us before dispatch.
Failed Deliveries
It is the customer's responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address and to ensure that someone is available to accept the delivery where required.
Where a delivery fails because nobody is available, access is not possible, an incorrect or incomplete address has been supplied, or the customer refuses delivery without reasonable cause, additional delivery or redelivery charges may apply.
Where a courier provides an estimated delivery window or tracking information, this remains subject to change and should not be treated as a guaranteed appointment unless expressly confirmed otherwise.
Checking Your Delivery
All deliveries should be inspected as soon as reasonably possible upon arrival and before any products are installed or used.
If the packaging appears damaged, we strongly recommend signing for the goods as damaged where the courier provides this option and notifying us as soon as possible. Where possible, photographs should be taken of the packaging, pallet and products before the goods are moved or unpacked.
Any visible damage, shortages or incorrect items should be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery where reasonably possible. Please provide photographs and details of the issue to help us investigate and resolve the matter promptly.
Failure to report visible transit damage promptly may affect our ability to pursue a claim with the courier. However, this does not affect any statutory rights you may have.
Solar panels, batteries and other fragile or high-value products should be checked particularly carefully before installation. Products should not be installed or used if damage is suspected.
Returns and Cancellations
If you wish to return or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@offgridrenewables.co.uk.
Where you are purchasing as a consumer, your right to cancel an online order and the applicable cancellation period will be governed by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and other applicable consumer legislation.
Where a consumer validly exercises their statutory right to cancel, any refund, including any applicable standard delivery costs, will be handled in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Unless goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or we have agreed otherwise, the customer is responsible for the cost and safe return of unwanted goods.
Returned goods should be appropriately packaged to prevent damage in transit. We may make a deduction from a refund where permitted by law if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Different terms may apply to business customers and to goods that are bespoke, made to specification or otherwise exempt from statutory cancellation rights.
Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
If you receive an item that you believe is faulty, has been damaged in transit or is not the item you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@offgridrenewables.co.uk.
Please provide your order number, details of the issue and, where appropriate, clear photographs showing the product, packaging and any visible damage.
We will investigate the issue and arrange an appropriate resolution in accordance with your statutory rights and our applicable returns and warranty procedures.
Please do not return goods without contacting us first, as some products are supplied directly from third-party warehouses and may need to be returned to a specific address.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Shipping & Delivery Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any rights or remedies available to consumers under applicable UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
