Victron Argofet Battery Isolators
The Victron Argofet Battery Isolators allow simultaneous charging of multiple batteries from a single alternator or battery charger, ensuring that batteries remain independent and preventing unintended discharge. Unlike traditional diode battery isolators, Argofet isolators provide ultra-low voltage drop, making them highly efficient for power distribution.
With virtually no voltage loss (less than 0.02V at low current and averaging 0.1V at higher currents), these isolators ensure that the alternator maintains optimal performance without requiring an increased output voltage. The Argofet series is ideal for marine, automotive, and off-grid applications where reliable multi-battery charging is essential.
Key Features:
- Simultaneous Battery Charging – Charges multiple batteries without connecting them together
- Ultra-Low Voltage Drop – Less than 0.02V at low current, averaging 0.1V at higher currents
- Prevents Battery Drain – Discharging one battery won’t affect others in the system
- Alternator Energize Input – Supports alternators that require DC voltage on B+ to start charging
- Heavy-Duty Connections – M8 bolt connections ensure secure and reliable power transfer

Installation Considerations:
To ensure maximum efficiency, use appropriately sized cables to minimise voltage drop. For example, a 100A current through a 50mm² cable over 10m will have a voltage drop of 0.26V, while a 50A current through a 10mm² cable over 5m will result in a voltage drop of 0.35V.
Alternator Energize Input:
Some alternators require DC voltage at the B+ terminal to begin charging. Traditional battery isolators can prevent return voltage, stopping the alternator from activating. The latest Argofet Isolators include a current-limited energize input to resolve this issue, ensuring seamless alternator operation.
